The most wonderful day of the month. #BirchBox

The day that my BirchBox comes in the mail each month is one of great rejoicing and excitement. But really - I love getting my BirchBox. LOVE.

My August BirchBox contained a fragrance sample, shampoo, conditioner, bronzer, and a beauty balm.

ALSO - as a sweet little added bonus, the cool team over at BirchBox addressed  my package to "The Great Jodi Lawrence," how nice of them!

Below are the product details from my box this month along with my opinion of the samples after giving them a try.

Catherine Malandrino - Style de Paris Fragrance

The designer's first-ever scent mingles summery fruits and florals for an elegant vibe. Wear it with your favorite sundress, and spritz again before meeting friends for cocktails.

I LOVE how this fragrance smells. I am very picky about perfume - but this is not over powering and smells fresh and girly. Also, the sample container is perfect to carry around in your clutch or handbag. It has a good top, to keep if from spraying or leaking and is small and sleek.

Dr. Jart+ - Dis-A-Pore Beauty Balm

The Korean skincare brand's SPF 30 face perfecter conceals enlarged pores and controls oil. Using your fingers, blend into skin on face and neck.

The BB cream blends well into even my fair skin. The sunscreen is effective and the cream disguises the larger pores on my nose. It also has a light, natural feel as opposed to feeling cakey on my skin.

ModelCo - Shimmer Bronzer

This lightweight pressed powder gives skin a natural-looking glow with a hint of shimmer. Using a blush brush, lightly dust onto hollows of cheeks, across forehead, and over chest.

As a fair-skinned human being, I already use a bronzer when applying my regular makeup (so as not to look like Casper the friendly - or not so friendly - ghost). I brush it lightly across my t-zone and that works well for me. I added a dusting of this over my usual bronzer and it added an extra dewy, sparkle that I usually don't get from my bronzer. I will continue to use it during the warmer months - but I would't use it after I transition to my winter makeup routine.

Neil George - Shampoo

Created by Beverly Hills stylists, the antioxidant-rich cleanser promotes shinier locks. Massage a dime-sized amount into damp hair and rinse away.

First things first - I have to use much more of this shampoo than a "dime-sized" amount to get it worked through all of my hair. However, it does seem to get my hair nice and clean.

Neil George - Conditioner

Paraben-free hydrator that detangles and smooths strands with antioxidants. Smooth a nickel-sized amount into clean, damp hair and rinse away.

I far prefer this conditioner to it's shampoo counter part. It leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth. It also does a great job of detangling my crazy, curly hair!

All in all I call this BirchBox a huge success!
