The way I do school spirit.

Last weekend, I made a trip to my alma mater for the Homecoming celebration. This trip, which I have made before, also comes with the worry of finding the perfect outfit. This outfit must be comfortable, yet cute, and display school spirit in just the right dose.

Being that purple and gold are the flagship colors of my university, this is the outfit I decided upon. It came to me when I wasn't looking for it at all (almost two months before the event) but when something so wonderful falls on top of you, you don't push it aside - you purchase it.

This ensemble was just warm enough for the early November weekend. The dress being above the knee, but long sleeve, and the kimono adding only a thin second layer. I added tall socks to my riding boots and it was perfection! The kimono also added the gold element to my outfit that I needed without being cheesy.
