Sometimes, when I am picking out an outfit, it's less about wanting to wear a certain item and more about dressing for whatever I have planned for the day. In this case, a stroll through a Monet exhibit calls for soft colors and an outfit with some movement and natural elements.
I always have themes in mind, even when I am shopping. How do I want to feel while I am doing whatever I am doing? To me, that is more important than the articles of clothing themselves.
This skirt and chambray top are two of my most worn pieces. I have paired them with what seems like 1,000 other combinations. To me, items like this are what I really want in my closet. Staples. Things I really love and always feel good in.
I have been working really hard to only purchase things I absolutely love when shopping. I guess living in a loft with a tiny closet will do that to you. Priorities!
