It isn't summer without a yellow dress.
Yellow has always been my color, and I knew long ago that for me there was no summer style where there was no yellow. It is one of those vibrant hues that is rather hard to incorporate into your decor without causing your house guests to have a stroke, but I love to wear it unapologetically - and I always will.
This spring, when several of my favorite brands and boutiques put their fresh frocks out on hangers, I was pleasantly surprised to see plenty of citrus tones to choose from. Anthropologie was a living fruit basket full of oranges, lemons and limes. I spent hours in the fitting room one special day, and this is one of the new friends I found.
This dress is my favorite dress. Every time I need to go to an event, this is the dress I leap for in my closet. There are several reasons why. I love the color (it is utterly perfect). I love the lace, and this neckline has always been on of my favorites. I am a girl who knows what she likes (and if you want to play stylist for yourself, I suggest you learn what you like too).
In my opinion, a bold color screams for texture and hints of contrast. This dress already gives great texture, but I added a little more with an eclectic clutch. I used my nail color and the turquoise enamel accents on my gold earrings to throw a little contrast into this look. Something I always tell myself when getting dressed - 'matching' isn't always good.
Apparently, I wasn't the only person to fall in love with this vibrant dress. It is already no longer available from Anthropologie, but that doesn't mean you can't add some yellow perfection to your closet! I've linked a few of my other favorite yellow dresses below, just for you!

Wearing - yellow lace dress via Anthropologie, tan heels by Kenneth Cole (similar), embroidered clutch via Imports from Marrakesh in Chelsea Market, round sunnies by Ray-Ban, gold bracelets by J. Crew ( here and here), handmade earrings by Homegrown Silver and Stone
PS: My nail color is Rich Girls & Po-Boys by OPI.
I had the best time photographing this look in front of Chattanooga's new The Dwell Hotel. This place is such an inspiring and visually stimulating trip. The entire space is retro reimagined, yet very modern. I am fairly sure this is an actual physical representation of what my daily thoughts look like. It is completely perfect.
Just food for thought, if you're ever visiting my beloved city.
