Toasted Naan with Capocollo, Prosciutto, Salami, and Castelvetrano Olives

If you've never had a castelvetrano olive, the time is now. 

If you're reading this sentence thinking, "I don't like olives," (said in a whiny voice) then stop being so close minded and give these little guys a try. They are packed with the most incredible savory flavor and deliver a surprising crunch. You'll love them. Trust me. 

This "recipe" is barely a recipe at all, and more of a combination to try. The flavors at play here are old school BFFs, and when they meet on a piece of toasted crispy naan the magic is evident.

This simple flatbread is ready in under 30 minutes and the result is the perfect appetizer to knock your friends socks off. They'll be all like, "I hate olives. What kind of olives did you use?" and you'll be like "They're castelvetranos," and they'll be like, "Damn, you're so worldly." It's dinner party magic. 

Or, go big and feed this simple, salty mini pizza to yourself for dinner - because life. 

Toasted Naan with Capocollo, Prosciutto, Salami, and Castelvetrano Olives

In this recipe I use store bought naan and marinara sauce. However, you can bake your own naan and make your own homemade marinara sauce if you really want to take it to the next level. But, for me, the beauty of this dish is how simple it is while still having so much impact. So, do what you wish.

So, who's ready for a tasty naan flatbread? Recipe below! 

Toasted Naan with Capocollo, Prosciutto, Salami, and Castelvetrano Olives

Prep Time = 5 minutes / Cook Time =  15-20 minutes / Total Time = 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Naan flatbread
  • olive oil
  • Mrs. Dash Italian Medley
  • capocollo, sliced
  • prosciutto, sliced
  • salami, sliced
  • provolone cheese
  • castelvetrano olives, sliced, pitted
  • marinara sauce 

Steps: 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 
  2. Using a brush, lightly cover the top of the naan with olive oil. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  3. Layer capocollo, prosciutto, and salami. Top with provolone cheese, sliced olives, and additional seasoning. 
  4. Bake on a baking sheet for 15 to 20 minutes, until the naan begins to brown and crisp. 
  5. Remove from the oven and slice into strips. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
