Day-to-Night Jumpsuit

Each time I walk into a dressing room, I think to myself “When can I wear this?” Sometimes, the answer to this question is NEVER, or NOT ENOUGH and it prevents me from buying something I really didn’t need. However, sometimes the answer to this questions is, “Jodi, you can work in this outfit, OR you can play in it.” - that is when I march straight to the checkout.

Sometimes being festive is a must - at least in my opinion. I love a good costume party and I love a good holiday. Wearing red, white and blue on July 4 is as necessary to me as the Michelob Ultra that will likely be in my hand all weekend. But lets be real - we don’t all have an American flag dress, scarf or bikini tucked away in our closets waiting for this one special weekend to break free and take our patriotic spirit to the next level. Sometimes we have to be creative...

fab'rik. | New shopping in Chattanooga.

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of joining a new friend with a similar passion for style at Chattanooga Fashion Week. That friend is Candace Barber, and it is with great excitement that I anticipate the opening of her new clothing store here in my beloved city! Candace is opening a new location of fab'rik, and the anticipation is killing me! I have previously shopped at fab'rik locations in other cities, and I will totally sing the praises of this trendy brand.

My mental shopping cart. | 4 things I need sooner, rather than later and some things I love along the way.

You know just as well as I do that it is impossible to scroll through Instagram or Pinterest without finding a list of little (or big) things you’d like to have. You know it is. Among all those beautiful photos, and well-curated versions of people, places and products you are bound to develop a little lust for some girl’s cute handbag or the perfect gallery wall. It’s only human. Well, this week these are my things. You know, the things I keep meaning to run out and pick up, or add to my Amazon shopping cart. Check out my list of this week’s most coveted products below.

LuLaRoe Giveaway!

A few weeks ago, Julia Gillhouse of LuLaRoe reached out to me in search of a collaboration. She offered to send me something from the LuLaRoe line and told me a little about the company the she is so passionate about. After checking out the brand, and gathering that one of the major focuses is achieving style and comfort without making sacrifices (also one of my major goals and inspirations when clothing myself daily) I knew I wanted to give it a try. Several of the styles available are similar to a t-shirt dress - but, with a makeover.

Dots.

I have been through so many phases with polka dots. I have loved them. I have hated them. I have felt they were generic, and ridiculous. Now, our relationship has arrived at a destination of indifference. I will pick up something with eye-catching spots in a store, and often put it down, but occasionally - it will speak to me.

Bellbottoms.

I remember by first pair of bellbottoms jeans. I was young, of course. Being a child of the 90s, I spent a major portion of my elementary years being obsessed with the funky styles of the 60s and 70s. I was a hippie for several school events and Halloween nights. I had more than one lava lamp in my room, and the wider the flare on my jeans - the better. Then, as fashion trends changed and my style matured, suddenly, wearing a flare was a faux pas.I traded my bellbottoms in for skinnies and thought there would never be any looking back. What are pleasant surprise in trend to see all cuts of denim making a comeback - including the bellbottom!
