You know just as well as I do that it is impossible to scroll through Instagram or Pinterest without finding a list of little (or big) things you’d like to have. You know it is. Among all those beautiful photos, and well-curated versions of people, places and products you are bound to develop a little lust for some girl’s cute handbag or the perfect gallery wall. It’s only human. Well, this week these are my things. You know, the things I keep meaning to run out and pick up, or add to my Amazon shopping cart. Check out my list of this week’s most coveted products below.
A few weeks ago, Julia Gillhouse of LuLaRoe reached out to me in search of a collaboration. She offered to send me something from the LuLaRoe line and told me a little about the company the she is so passionate about. After checking out the brand, and gathering that one of the major focuses is achieving style and comfort without making sacrifices (also one of my major goals and inspirations when clothing myself daily) I knew I wanted to give it a try. Several of the styles available are similar to a t-shirt dress - but, with a makeover.
I love the resurrection of old trends and fashions. I am perfectly aware that in some circles of society formal hats never went out of style, but I don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t return to the masses. I love seeing stylish women promenade into churches in feathered and flowered hats. Something about wearing a nice hat makes you hold your head a little higher - or simply feel like you are attending a royal wedding! That’s how I feel when I style this fun, green number. Something about wearing a hat with a bit of flash takes a little bravery, and I love to test myself.
I remember by first pair of bellbottoms jeans. I was young, of course. Being a child of the 90s, I spent a major portion of my elementary years being obsessed with the funky styles of the 60s and 70s. I was a hippie for several school events and Halloween nights. I had more than one lava lamp in my room, and the wider the flare on my jeans - the better. Then, as fashion trends changed and my style matured, suddenly, wearing a flare was a faux pas.I traded my bellbottoms in for skinnies and thought there would never be any looking back. What are pleasant surprise in trend to see all cuts of denim making a comeback - including the bellbottom!
